Up and Coming Fashion Brands

fashion-brands

The people who spend their near-excessive amount of time trying to keep on-top of what’s going on in the fashion world may still get it wrong sometimes. Blinded by the big fashion houses’ names and the things they’re doing to remain the top dogs, they might very well miss out on all the wonders of the less popular – and often less costly – alternatives, which are creating designs that people would flock to if they knew more about them.

Here’s five of the up and coming fashion brands you need to look out for:

1. Giannefranco Ferre. If the name on its own doesn’t drag you in, just wait until you’ve seen what their garments look like. The former stylistic director or Christian Dior is now doing things his own way and has the vision to see them through, if you know a thing or two about the fashion house he once worked at.

2. Mary Katrantzou. Hailing from Greece, Katrantzou has earned a name for herself in a relatively short space of time and you’re more than likely to have seen it before without realising. Look deeper into their designs and you may just fall for them.

3. WHIT. Making a name for herself in the South of the US, Whitney Pozgay’s an experienced designer who recently decided to do things off her own back. Now she’s there, her WHIT brand is on the come up and you may just see it on the way through.

4. Moncler.Hailing from France and no newcomer to the game, Moncler have been going strong for a good half a century, but it’s only now when the masses are really clocking onto their designs. Thanks to their jackets and coats, you’re likely to see a lot more of them too.

5. Amari Avera. Kicked into action when Adrian Rivera and Anibal Marin joined forces, their core focus is the ability to nail it with the fine detail, if not simply through the quality of the materials they work with. Together, it create somewhat of a fantasy brand which you would have thought to be more popular than it is today.

This Season’s Must Have Shoes

This seasons shoes

It’s spring, going on summer, so the weather is turning to a state we might not have even recognised a couple of weeks ago. This said, you don’t want to be held back, wearing the same old stuff from a few months back, without updating it and getting in-tune to what’s current and what actually fits in with today’s climate. You’ll only fall further back in time and get annoyed at yourself with not moving on with fashion, if you don’t. This said, below is a quick sample of what you should be looking out for.

This is just have of this season’s must-have shoes:

1. Steve Madden Platform Sandal. If you’ve already heard those words floating about recently, it’s for good reason. The platform sandals are what girls are going mad for, after seeing what sort of an impact came of the Steve Madden Platform shoes. They fit the weather, they’ll brighten up your outfit, don’t miss out.

2. BCBG Patent Leather Shoes. If you’re still not quite ready to embrace the sunshine and free your feet up to match the recent run of hot days we’ve had, consider these to be a safe middle ground, which you won’t feel too guilty about splashing a few pounds on. What’s best is that they’ll see you through the rest of the year too.

3. Linda Patent Wedge Sandal. If you can’t help but want to top up your supply of Stella McCartney shoes, make sure it’s this the one that you opt for this season.

4. T-Bar Gold Shoe. There will never be a time when Vivienne Westwood shoes won’t help you spice up your outfit. If that’s the intention, you’ll most probably want to have a pair of these ones handy. Get them while they’re hot.

5. Tahari Wedge Sandals. Coming in a wide variety of colours and styles, the wedge sandals are the ideal way to detach yourself from the seaon past and dig into one of the most enjoyable times of the year. If you just want them in preparation for a holiday, it’s a must that you hunt a pair down now.

Super Models – Global Icons

Super Models

When you can find the time to stop gawping at the beauty of the world’s top super models, you may be able to see just how many pies each of them are able to get their fingers into, over the course of a year. A number of them are very proactive with their careers and don’t often stop at just being the figurehead to whatever brand they promote. For this reason, many of them have grown into global icons from their work and never cease to cause a buzz as stars in their own right.

Here’s a list of the five top modern super models:

1. Gisele Bundchen. Probably one of the best known Brazilians who doesn’t play football, Gisele has been on top of all the ‘hot’ lists of recent memory. As a person who helped to start the wave of Brazilian models moving into the mainstream fashion industry, she’s established herself as one of the all-time greats and sits as one of the most successful super-models of this generation. Aged 31, there’s still no stopping her.

2. Kate Moss. Pretty much unavoidable in the UK, Kate Moss is a name which many can’t miss, due to her quick ascent of the industry during the ‘90s. Since then, she’s yet to stop the large-scale deals with fashion houses and make up lines, in spite of her small frame.

3. Adriana Lima. Another who made a name for themselves from Brazil, Adriana is mostly known for her work at Maybelline. After winning a competition, it wasn’t long before she was launched to the forefront of the country’s modelling talent and soon made that local exposure go worldwide.

4. Heidi Klum. Known simply as ‘The Body’ to many, Heidi is a German super model who’s been known to hop from one company to the next, never ceasing to impress at every stage of her lengthy career in the game.

5. Alessandra Ambrosia. Best known for her time at Victoria’s Secret, Alessandra has jumped from Elle to Guess to Armani to Next and loads in between. She’s made her mark and now stands as one of the most recognisable faces in the world.
